He was one of 13 siblings, some of whom also came to the US (Chicago and Kansas City). I was never able to trace two of his brothers, John and Nicholas. Anyone?

I am decended from the Morris Liston (1664-1709)line. My grandfather was George A. Liston (1925- ) and he is decended from Hayes Farwell Liston (1899-1979). I have been working on the Liston family history in conjunction with my grandmother (L.Jane Breakiron Liston)for about 5 years and plan on eventually publishing a book of the Liston family history for the line through which I decend. If anyone has information on any of the Morris Liston lines and would like to exchange information, please contact me. I asked the waiter if that was the name of the owner, hoping to meet an Italian Liston, only to find out that it meant the paving stones we were sitting on and that is where the Italian version of the name came from.

Well, the portrait of Sir Robert Liston by Gilbert Stuart at the NAtional Gallery in DC looks a heck of alot like my late Grandpa Robert L. Liston. However, we trace back through Morris Liston, no even indirectly there seem to be a few intense family traits (I recognized the face before I'd read the name).

I have two or three daughters and live in Portland. We spend time back in GLenwood Springs,Colorado with my folks (originally of Iowa) and my four siblings. Two of my brothers and my sister work as raft guides and share a bunk room in the center of the house. Back in Portland, I take care of the baby and paint pictures.

The villages are only about 15 miles apart but there is no crossover at all. Living in Newcastle West (closer to Castlemahon than Athea) I am assumed to be a Castlemahon Liston. As if!!
